Finally an affordable alternative to all stainless steel water jacketed headers. For the thousands of pleasure boaters "NOT" affected by the corrosion problems associated with Salt Water there is at last the availability of a true tubular header system for the Fresh Water boater. These headers are designed to be a replacement for Mercury, OMC or jet manifolds. However, they terminate approximately 8" aft of stock manifolds and are projected to meet the exhaust tips providing they are in the stock location. Low Port Headers are also available for under the swim step applications. Standard width headers will have about 1/2" clearance between header and tall style Moroso valve cover. Our 40322, 40324 and 40326 headers incorporate the end of the header with the silent choice valve. The 40322 uses the air operated actuators from the Mercury valves. The 40324 and 40326 uses electric solenoids supplied to operate the valves. Headers will have about 1/2" clearance between header and tall Moroso valve covers. Lightning's 454 Jet / V-Drive fresh water header is a 2-1/4" primary tube (2 1/8" I.D.) header is designed for 572 cubic inch Chevy engines and up. The standard collector length is 8" and points down at approx. 36 degrees. In many Jet and V-drive applications where there is extra space between the engine and transom, this can be used to add collector length to help combat reversion. Keep in mind, that if the exhaust tips are below the water line, the header can literally pull water up from outside the boat.

The standard Header comes with a black powder coat finish. The headers come complete with water supply manifold, gaskets, bolts, pet cocks, water feed hose and clamps.

Reduced water helps reduce reversion by reducingexhaust stream water. Only enough water enters the exhaust tokeep hoses, etc. cool. The remainder gets dumped overboard via a3/4" fitting at the end of header. This is the only option that will helpthe silent choice system. Oil filter requires relocation.

For the thousands of pleasure boaters "NOT" affected by the corrosion problems associated with Salt Water there is at last the availability of a true tubular header system for the Fresh Water boater.
